The VC ecosystem rewards a specific personality profile. The research calls it the dark triad. It doesn't reward people who are trying to build things that actually work, because building things that actually work is slow and boring and doesn't make good slides.
Someone has to do it anyway. Someone has to build the future that's worth having, not just the one that's fundable.
