Brand over novelty is the game. That's what the mentor said. Not "build something truly innovative." Trust over cleverness. Showing up consistently over showing up brilliantly once and disappearing for three months while you refine it.
I heard this and I knew it was right and I kept building anyway.
Perfectionism doesn't feel like avoidance. It feels like quality standards. It feels like responsibility. And all of that is true, and it is also a very sophisticated story your brain tells you so you don't have to find out whether anyone actually wants what you're making.
For software: an MVP means one simple feature, end-to-end, that provides value. Not the infrastructure for the second feature. Not the clean architecture that scales to a million users. One feature. End-to-end. Provides value. Ship it.
What is the minimum experiment that tells you whether this is worth continuing? That's your ship date.
